An exciting opportunity for an experienced and senior Financial Planner to join a leading Chartered financial planning firm in Central London!

Job Title: Senior Private Client Adviser

Location: Central London office, with required travel to Weybridge and Southern Home Counties for clients

Salary: Up to £100,000 basic salary plus additional bonus and revenue-related bonus

About the role:

Reporting to the Private Client Director/Director of Wealth Planning, this role delivers an outstanding holistic financial planning service to new and existing clients of the firm, promoting and providing relevant advice in line with the firm's client proposition.

Working alongside the Private Client Director and a high-quality and experienced support team, the role includes responsibility for managing a portfolio of existing clients, as well as developing new business from existing client relationships and/or your own client connections, and other professional connections/introducers.

The role is part of a succession plan for the Private Client Director who will retire in April 2026 following a 12-18 month transition period working alongside the successful candidate.

Experience and Competencies Required:

  • CII Chartered financial planner with 5+ years’ experience within a planning-led IFA environment, supporting HNW clients (equivalent non-CII qualifications will be considered)
  • Excellent working knowledge of investment, life and pensions products and associated legislation
  • Comprehensive understanding of Income Tax, CGT and IHT, DC & DB transfers, and experience advising trusts/trustees, dealing with investment bonds and excellent estate planning skills
  • Strong understanding of the principles of asset allocation and portfolio construction
  • At least basic knowledge of esoteric products, including VCT and EIS investments and structured products
  • Respect for the client at the centre of the process and a drive to deliver quality client outcomes with demonstrable experience of maintaining long-term client relationships, ideally with experience of working with an older client bank in or approaching retirement
  • Experience of using Voyant cashflow modelling software
  • Proven ability to generate new business via client referrals, professional introducer's or other methods

Please note:

The role comes with hybrid working flexibility. The team are based in Weybridge, Surrey and you may occasionally be required to work from the main office in Farringdon, London. The majority of clients are based in the Southern Home Counties, so the ability to regularly travel to these areas is a pre-requisite for the role. We welcome discussions with London-based candidates if they are willing to travel to the Southern Home Counties and Weybridge at least once a week.
