Do you have what it takes? THE GIG You will be joining our newly formed Global End User Computing team. You will provide Subject Matter Expertise across the entire End User Technology stack and will be responsible for maintaining, improving, and ensuring the smooth running of the Dr Martens Desktop and Mobile estate. You will help to implement the EUC strategy and where required, take the lead in designing and developing solutions, improving our processes, and providing guidance & communications in line with industry best practice. You will be the point of escalation for our technical teams and support them in resolving the more complex issues arising in the EUC environment. You will also play a key role in delivering some of our really exciting projects. As a senior Engineer you will be organised, proactive, and embody our Dr Martens culture. You will work together with Dr Martens global technology colleagues across our Corporate, Manufacturing and Retail functions. You will share knowledge and help to develop the technical capabilities of our junior team members THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
  • You are passionate about technology, keep up to date with the latest industry trends and understand how these may influence enterprise IT
  • You will be a point of escalation for both your team and the wider Dr Martens technology function, you are comfortable with the responsibility this brings and will support your team and others in their decision-making processes.
  • Build relationships with key staff across IT and the wider business to maintain effectiveness and relevance in role.
  • Drive continuous process efficiencies and improvements across the environment. You will be proactive in identifying ways to improve user experience and the overall security posture of the desktop and mobile estate.
  • Take the lead and/or support project work as required

You will also possess the following technical capabilities:
  • Proven experience working in an End User Computing environment with 3+ years working in a senior desktop engineering role within a large organisation
  • Deep knowledge and experience of EUC technologies such as:
  • Deploying, troubleshooting, and managing Windows operating systems.
  • Modern device provisioning and management concepts and particularly knowledge of Intune and Autopilot. This should also include experience of Mobile device management.
  • Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Conditional Access and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
  • Experience of SCCM for OS deployment, patching, application deployment, reporting etc…
  • Experience of deploying and supporting Apple Mac PCs with Jamf or other management toolsets.
  • Knowledge of supporting technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policy, networking (DHCP, DNS etc..)
  • Experience of Application Packaging and deployment through Intune is essential. You will also have a good understanding of the key technologies such as MSI, MSIX, APPX, App-V etc.. and know the differences between them and when to use them.
  • A strong scripting skillset is essential for this role. Demonstratable experience of using PowerShell for deployment scenarios and task automation is required.
  • Experience ITIL, ITIL’s framework and how this applies to the IT Function
