This role represents an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to take ownership of key projects, deepen their expertise in applied machine learning and generative AI, and contribute directly to the buildout of a next-generation investment analytics platform.

The Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with investment professionals to design, build, and optimise scalable data solutions, while also driving forward the firm’s adoption of GenAI and machine learning in production.

Responsibilities:

    • Develop and deploy production-grade Generative AI systems, including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and LLM-powered tools.
    • Support model development through feature engineering, experimentation, and performance monitoring.
    • Play a leading role in setting technical direction for the data and AI stack, sharing knowledge and mentoring colleagues.
    • Automate robust data pipelines for financial datasets, ratings, and forecasts.
    • Collaborate with investment teams to translate complex data into actionable insights.
    • Re-engineer existing workflows to enhance resilience, scalability, and performance.
    • Maintain clear, accessible technical documentation.

Requirements:

    • Strong programming skills in Python (Pandas) and SQL (Postgres preferred).
    • Hands-on cloud experience (AWS preferred, though GCP/Azure also considered).
    • Proven track record deploying Generative AI systems into production.
    • 3+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning models (regression, classification, time-series, etc.) in production environments.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-specialists.
    • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a small, fast-paced team.
    • Strong interest in applying data and technology to solve investment challenges.
