My client, a leading Chinese bank in the heart of London, is looking for a Senior Credit Risk Manager to join the credit function within their risk department. This bank is one of the largest in the world and has an established London presence for over 50 years. This bank has cultivated a fantastic, modern culture and has worked to emphasise credit and establish it as a vital part of the lending process. You will be joining a small and supportive credit function within a wider risk team, and will work closely with other departments too, especially the relationship management team.My client is looking for an experienced and skilled analyst who has exposure to a variety of corporate banking sectors and is comfortable working with large transactions in a team and independently. Specific day-to-day responsibilities include: - To provide independent, high quality credit risk assessments and recommendations for (a) corporate, financial institution and sovereign counterparties, issuers and clients, and (b) country risks, and to ensure that those assessments are formally reviewed in line with credit policy.- To assist the Deputy Head of Risk in ensuring that all credit risks in the Bank are identified, monitored and controlled effectively, and that the Bank establishes and maintains appropriate credit risk management controls, systems, policies and procedures.- To ensure that credit exposures are accurately reported in accordance with the policy of the Deputy Head of Risk and senior management, the Business Areas and other support areas as required, and to monitor on a daily basis adherence to approved credit limits. - To determine and, where applicable, improve the methodology for accurately calculating credit exposures from new and existing products and business, and for measuring and monitoring portfolio credit risks.My client is looking for someone who has at least 4-5 years experience as a credit analyst in the UK, covering a variety of sectors including energy and infrastructure. They are looking for someone who possesses a good understanding of a variety of wholesale banking and treasury products. Excellent communication, verbal and written skills are required.
