An opportunity to join a growing insurance business in the City. Our client seeks an experienced Compliance specialist to join the team. This integral role is wide-ranging and works cross-functionally to identify, assess, and monitor regulatory risk, providing advice and guidance to various departments.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining compliance policies and procedures to inform, educate, and elevate standards across the business
- Overseeing detailed information gathering, process mapping, and other activities with the objective to identify and assess compliance risks, extensive interaction with other departments and functions
- Owning and developing a Product Governance Framework
- Providing advice on regulatory risk and reporting on the effectiveness of internal systems and controls to senior management
- Designing and implementing effective compliance training programmes
- Leading and supporting compliance-related initiatives and projects
- Investigating and resolving compliance issues
- Interpreting data and analysing key performance indicators
- Assisting in ensuring Consumer Duty Obligations are met
- Identifying and mitigating Conduct Risk
Experience and Knowledge required:
- An in-depth understanding of the UK financial services regulatory landscape, including PRA and FCA regulations
- Proven experience of working in the General Insurance industry
- A track record of implementing and monitoring compliance frameworks
- Experience of identifying, assessing, and mitigating regulatory risks in insurance firms
- Expertise in financial crime prevention and compliance
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and people management skills
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
