Senior Business Analyst - Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited : Job Details

We are working with a global financial institution to recruit a Senior Business Analyst to join a high-performing Regulatory Operations team. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in regulatory reporting, data analysis, and exception management within financial services. You'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of MiFIR trade and transaction reporting across multiple jurisdictions.Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse trade and transaction reporting exceptions submitted to National Competent Authorities (e.g. FCA, CBI, BaFin).
• Drive implementation and testing of controls to ensure compliance with MiFIR/D reporting obligations.
• Collaborate with Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Audit to investigate and remediate reporting issues.
• Support UAT for system enhancements and regulatory remediation tasks.
• Partner with Change Management and QA teams to ensure robust issue documentation and resolution.
• Provide data-driven insights using tools like SQL and Excel to identify trends and risks.
• Maintain strong governance and control standards across reporting processes.

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience in regulatory reporting, risk and control, or data analysis within financial services.
• Strong understanding of exception-based controls and compliance frameworks.
• Proficiency in Excel and SQL; experience with JIRA is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
• High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

This role will require you to work 3 days per week in the Belfast office so candidates within Northern Ireland will be given preference and we would not consider someone relocating for this role. Although the role is initially for a 24-month period there is a high possibility of extension.
