Senior Accounts Assistant | Temporary | Hinckley | 3 Months + | Up To £17ph

We are supporting a well-established and growing company in Hinckley, assisting their small and close-knit finance team by recruiting a Senior Accounts Assistant on a temporary basis (3-4 months), with potential to transition into a permanent position.

Location: HinckleyHours: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week, 30-minute lunch)Contract: Temporary (3-4 months) with potential for permanentWorking Arrangement: Fully office-based

About The Role:

As part of a small finance team in Hinckley, the Senior Accounts Assistant will take full ownership of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, from invoice management and payment runs to sales invoicing and credit control.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

  • Matching, coding, and processing supplier invoices
  • Performing supplier statement reconciliations
  • Managing daily bank postings and reconciliations
  • Processing payments and handling employee expenses

Accounts Receivable

  • Issuing sales invoices and resolving related queries
  • Managing credit notes and debit notes
  • Credit control, primarily with public sector and other large clients
  • Performing customer account reconciliations

General Finance Support

  • Preparing and assisting with VAT returns
  • Supporting month-end close activities
  • Producing ad-hoc and regular financial reports for management
  • Providing cover and support across the finance function as required

Systems & Tools:

  • ERP: Navision
  • Excel: High-level usage for reporting, reconciliations, and analysis

About You

  • Proven experience in a similar Senior Accounts Assistant or all-round transactional finance role
  • Strong knowledge of both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Confident in managing end-to-end ownership of tasks in a small team environment
  • Proficient with Excel and comfortable working with ERP systems (Navision experience desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment
