About the RoleWe are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our specialist setting supporting children and young people aged 2–19 with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), complex needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and non-verbal communication.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact in the lives of pupils who require high levels of care, patience, and tailored support.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with PMLD, ASD, and complex needs
Assist with personal care routines including toileting, feeding, and hygiene
Support non-verbal children using alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton)
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver individualised learning plans
Promote a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Experience working with children or young people in a SEND setting
Personal care experience is essential
Understanding of PMLD, ASD, and non-verbal communication strategies
Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and flexible in a dynamic environment
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care) desirable
