SEND Teaching Assistant – Lambeth
Location: Lambeth, South London
Job Type: Full-Time (Term Time Only)
Salary: £85–£100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025 or ASAP
We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Lambeth. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
About the Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support students with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning delays.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum and make progress.
- Use a variety of strategies and interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Help track pupil development and contribute to progress reviews and EHCP targets.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar setting.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for supporting the learning and wellbeing of children with additional needs.
- A relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
