SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to support the educational needs of students in Stoke on Trent. As an SEND Teaching Assistant, your primary role will be to assist Teachers in creating a positive and effective learning environment. You will work with a range of additional and/or associated learning needs, sensory impairment and health needs of primary pupils; providing academic and emotional support, while fostering their personal development.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children across EYFS, RECEPTION, KS1, KS2 or KS3.
  • Experience working with children with a range of SLD and complex needs.
  • Desire to develop their understanding of SEND.
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to plan and prioritise effectively.
  • Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Be committed to the wider school life and willing to engage in a range of extra-curricular activities
