About the Role

You’ll be based in a specialist SEND school in Wandsworth, supporting children and young people aged 2 to 19 with a range of needs including visual and hearing impairments, multi-sensory impairments, autism (ASD), ADHD, and behavioural challenges. The school has tailored learning pathways for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) as well as those working toward GCSEs and BTEC qualifications.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Assist teachers with planning and delivering differentiated lessons
  • Support pupils’ academic, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Prepare specialist resources tailored to individual learning needs
  • Track pupil progress and share insights with staff and families

Specialist Training & Workshops

As part of your apprenticeship, you’ll receive expert-led training in areas such as:

  • Understanding the SEND landscape in the UK
  • Safeguarding in SEND environments
  • Adaptive curriculum planning and delivery
  • Innovative assessment techniques for SEND pupils
  • Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and communication needs
  • Responding to trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
