Learning Support Assistant (SEN)

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant with SEN experience to join our college in Harrow. This role is ideal for someone who has previously worked as a Teaching Assistant with responsibilities in Special Educational Needs (SEN). The position offers flexibility with working days ranging from a minimum of 3 days a week up to 5 days a week.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
- Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods to suit the needs of each student.
- Assist in the development of social skills and behaviours by encouraging positive interactions in the classroom and playground.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents to help further support the student’s educational journey.
- Participate in training and development sessions to stay updated with the latest educational practices and techniques for supporting students with SEN.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEN responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to student development.
- Ability to work flexibly across different settings and adapt to varying educational needs.
