SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
- Part-time (3 days per week)
- Location: Morecambe
- Salary: Paid to appropriate scale point
- Contract Term: April 2024 until July 2023
We are seeking a highly motivated SENCO to join a fantastic community primary school in Morecambe. This part-time role is an excellent opportunity for a qualified SENDCo to make a significant impact in a supportive and friendly environment.
Day to day of the role:
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school’s SEN policy.
- Coordinate provision for children with special educational needs.
- Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and support for SEN students.
- Advise on the graduated approach to providing SEN support.
- Help to raise awareness of SEN issues at the staff level.
- Ensure that SEN records are up to date and accurate.
- Organise and manage resources to meet the needs of students with SEN.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified SENDCo with a strong understanding of recent SEND legislation.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with parents and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to lead and coordinate support services.
