Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Hounslow, West London

Work type: Full time, Long term

Position Overview:

Empowering Learning is seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team at an SEN school in Hounslow. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of children with special educational needs (SEN) in a classroom setting.

Job Responsibilities:

- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.

- Support students with a range of special educational needs, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and physical disabilities.

- Provide personal care and assistance to students as required.

- Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to create a supportive learning environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

- Full-time availability during school hours.

- Previous experience working with SEN students and/or in a care capacity.

- Preferred: At least 1 year of experience in SEN support work, class-based support, or care assistant roles.

- Experience working with a range of SEN conditions including ASD, MLD, PMLD, SEMH, and physical disabilities.

- Qualifications: BA in Psychology, Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification.

- Must have a Child and Adult DBS check on the update service or be willing to obtain one as part of the registration process.

- For candidates who have lived outside of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Police check for that country is required.
