Working Hours: 8:15am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 pupil in Lewisham with an EHCP for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s education, working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals to provide tailored support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with an ASD diagnosis, in line with their EHCP.

• Assist with learning activities, social communication, and emotional regulation.

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.

• Support the child in accessing the curriculum and building independence.

• Promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN (desirable but not essential).

• A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.

• Ability to follow guidance from teachers and SENCo.

• Right to Work in the UK.

• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
