Teach Plus is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, inclusive primary academy in Twickenham. This co-educational school, catering for pupils aged 4-11, offers an ambitious, nurturing environment where children are encouraged to be curious, confident, and resilient. With a broad, well-sequenced curriculum covering core subjects as well as art, music, languages, and computing, the school promotes both academic excellence and strong personal development.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting a child in Year 3 who has ADHD and Autism. The child can display challenging behaviour and may be defiant at times, so the school is seeking someone with a strong SEND background and excellent behaviour-management strategies. Candidates with TEAM TEACH or restraint-training experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

You will join a setting that offers enrichment clubs, trips, leadership opportunities and prioritises well-being, pastoral support, and high expectations. This is a full-time role starting immediately.

• Work as an SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with ADHD and Autism

• Implement effective behaviour-management strategies to ensure a safe, structured learning environment

• Support the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development

• Follow personalised learning plans and collaborate with the SENCo and teaching staff

• Encourage resilience, independence, and engagement in classroom tasks

• Use de-escalation techniques and, if trained, TEAM TEACH approaches

• Promote the school's inclusive ethos and values in your role as an SEN Teaching Assistant

• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and meetings where necessary

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you should have:

• A strong background in SEND and behaviour support

• Experience working with pupils displaying challenging behaviour

• TEAM TEACH or similar restraint-training experience (desirable)

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• A calm, proactive, and resilient approach

• Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service

• Right to work in the UK
