SEN Teaching Assistant - Tradewind Recruitment : Job Details

A small, nurturing SEN school in Barking and Dagenham is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism. The pupils are in Years 7 and 9 but follow a primary curriculum, with a strong emphasis on creative learning through arts and crafts.

The Role:

• Support teachers in delivering core subjects, adapted to primary-level learning.

• Lead and assist with engaging activities in arts, crafts and other creative areas to develop pupils' confidence and skills.

• Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and social development.

• Help create a calm, supportive environment where every child can thrive.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with autism or complex needs is desirable.

• A creative, hands-on approach to supporting learning.

• Patience, empathy and a passion for SEN education.

• A positive team player who can build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
