We are seeking a resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Milton Keynes. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students who require additional support.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Support the educational and social development of students with special educational needs and emotional challenges.
- Work closely with teachers to tailor instruction that meets the needs of individual students.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students, helping them develop coping strategies and improve their social skills.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Monitor and support the progress of students, both academically and emotionally.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment for all students.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within an SEN or SEMH setting.
- Strong resilience and the ability to handle challenging situations with compassion and patience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special needs education are highly desirable.
