A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Small Heath area is seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist ASD resource base, supporting children with Autism in a structured and nurturing environment.

This long-term opportunity sits within a dedicated provision for pupils with a range of Autism-related needs, including communication differences, sensory sensitivities, and emotional regulation challenges. You'll be joining a skilled and supportive team focused on providing consistency, and meaningful support every day.

What You'll Do:

  • Support pupils with ASD on a 1:1 or small group basis within the resource base
  • Use visual supports, structured routines and clear communication to aid understanding
  • Encourage independence, social interaction and positive behaviour
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and therapy teams to deliver personalised support
  • Create a calm, consistent environment where pupils can thrive

What We're Looking For:

  • A level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a relevant qualification
  • Experience supporting children with Autism in a school or similar setting
  • Confidence using visual timetables, PECS, Makaton or other communication tools
  • A patient, empathetic and consistent approach
