Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs.
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and adapting resources to suit individual needs.
Support pupils in developing social skills, independence, and confidence.
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
Promote positive behaviour and help manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
Assist with personal care needs where required, ensuring dignity and respect.
Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil development.
Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children with SEN, either in a school or similar setting.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A proactive approach, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations.
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
