Contract Length: Long-term with the potential for permanent appointment

About the School

This is a truly special opportunity to join a forward-thinking and inclusive Primary school in Ealing that caters to children and young people aged 4–11 with a diverse range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), communication and language difficulties, sensory processing differences, and social, emotional and mental health challenges.

The school is built on a foundation of empathy, high expectations, and an unwavering belief that every child – regardless of their starting point – has the right to access a high-quality education that nurtures their strengths and prepares them for a fulfilling future. Staff at the school are united in their commitment to meeting each learner’s unique needs with compassion, creativity, and consistency.

The Role

We are seeking a committed and emotionally intelligent Teaching Assistant who can bring enthusiasm, care, and resilience to a highly rewarding support role within this specialist setting.

Working under the guidance of experienced teachers and therapists, you will play an integral part in supporting pupils’ holistic development – academically, socially and emotionally. This role will involve working both 1:1 and with small groups to deliver structured learning activities, sensory interventions and targeted support strategies. You will help pupils engage with their personalised curriculum, manage their emotions, and develop independence and self-confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with complex needs, ensuring that their individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) are delivered effectively in the classroom.
  • Support the implementation of differentiated lessons, therapy sessions and sensory programmes designed to meet the unique learning styles and needs of each child.
  • Assist with the development of communication, life skills and emotional regulation through a combination of structured routines and flexible support strategies.
  • Collaborate with class teachers, therapists, and external professionals to monitor progress and adapt support approaches as required.
  • Contribute to the creation of a calm, consistent, and nurturing learning environment where children feel safe, respected, and valued.
  • Support with personal care, mobility and feeding needs where applicable (full training provided).
  • Model emotional literacy, patience and clear communication at all times, acting as a positive role model for pupils.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A sincere passion for supporting children and young people with special educational needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a calm, patient and proactive attitude.
  • A strong sense of empathy and the emotional resilience to navigate challenges with consistency and care.
  • A willingness to learn and grow through ongoing training and reflective practice.
  • Previous experience working in an SEN or care setting is desirable, but not essential – we welcome applications from individuals with transferable skills and the right mindset.

What the School Offers:

  • A nurturing and child-centred environment built on mutual respect, teamwork and high expectations for all.
  • Comprehensive training and professional development opportunities, including access to CPD in areas such as Team Teach, PECS, Makaton, Trauma-Informed Practice and sensory integration.
  • A highly skilled multi-disciplinary team who are committed to supporting both pupils and staff.
  • Opportunities for career progression into Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), therapy support or pastoral roles.
  • On-site parking and excellent transport links for those travelling from across Essex and surrounding areas.

Why This Role?

This is more than a support role – it is an opportunity to be a consistent presence in the lives of children who deserve to feel seen, understood, and celebrated for who they are. You will be part of a dedicated team that works tirelessly to remove barriers, build confidence and equip pupils with the tools they need to thrive.

If you are driven by a belief in inclusive education and want to make a measurable difference in a young person’s life every single day, we warmly invite you to apply.
