Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver engaging and effective PSHE lessons to students with special educational needs, ensuring high levels of participation and achievement.
- Use data effectively to track pupil performance and implement strategies to support underperforming students.
- Develop and enhance the curriculum in line with national initiatives and school objectives.
- Lead and manage the PSHE department, inspiring both staff and students to achieve excellence.
- Support the academic, social, and pastoral development of students within the department.
- Collaborate with other departments and participate in school-wide initiatives to promote a holistic educational experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven track record of improving pupil performance in a school setting, preferably within SEN.
- Strong commitment to equality of opportunity and inclusive education.
- Excellent data management skills, with proficiency in systems such as Excel.
- Ability to analyse and utilise data to raise student achievement.
- Experience in supporting and challenging students to excel.
- Knowledge of national educational initiatives and how they impact learning and teaching.
- Strong mathematical ability for effective data handling.
- Excellent management skills with the ability to inspire and lead a department.
- Flexibility and resilience, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
