Day-to-day of the role:

• Deliver engaging and effective PSHE lessons to students with special educational needs, ensuring high levels of participation and achievement.
• Use data effectively to track pupil performance and implement strategies to support underperforming students.
• Develop and enhance the curriculum in line with national initiatives and school objectives.
• Lead and manage the PSHE department, inspiring both staff and students to achieve excellence.
• Support the academic, social, and pastoral development of students within the department.
• Collaborate with other departments and participate in school-wide initiatives to promote a holistic educational experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven track record of improving pupil performance in a school setting, preferably within SEN.
• Strong commitment to equality of opportunity and inclusive education.
• Excellent data management skills, with proficiency in systems such as Excel.
• Ability to analyse and utilise data to raise student achievement.
• Experience in supporting and challenging students to excel.
• Knowledge of national educational initiatives and how they impact learning and teaching.
• Strong mathematical ability for effective data handling.
• Excellent management skills with the ability to inspire and lead a department.
• Flexibility and resilience, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
