Engage Education are currently seeking a Qualified SEN Teacher to work in a specialist school for students between 11 to 19 with ASD. The schools approach to education is to look at the whole child to create a balance between therapeutic approaches and personalised teaching. The ideal candidate will be a subject specialist keen to transfer their enthusiasm for what they teach. Role Details

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons across all areas of teaching and learning
  • Create progress reports for individual students, along with statistics and regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and thematic projects
  • Implement interventions based on Individual Education and Behaviour Plans
  • Use positive reinforcement as a key strategy for managing behaviour
  • Maintain professional and personal boundaries at all times
  • Ensure proper risk assessments are conducted and maintained

Person Specification

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent qualification
  • Have at least two years of experience in teaching, ideally within the SEND sector
  • Be able to respond calmly and effectively to children with complex and co-occurring neurodiverse needs
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Be familiar with the National Curriculum and SEND Code of Practice
  • Work collaboratively and approach problem-solving with creativity
