Salary: £100 per day

Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and forward-thinking Learning Mentor to join our team. This role is similar to a Teaching Assistant but focuses more on providing 1:1 support to children with SEN. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Individualised Support: Work closely with children using their individualised plans to tailor your approach, ensuring each child's unique needs are met.
  • Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to engage children with SEN, fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Holistic Support: Address the whole child's needs, including their basic needs, to create a stable and nurturing environment.
  • Trauma-Informed Practice: Understand how trauma affects children and apply this knowledge to support their emotional and psychological well-being.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to each child's development.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Experience with SEN: Proven experience working with children with SEN, understanding their unique challenges and strengths.
  • Engagement Skills: Ability to connect with children, using creative and adaptive methods to maintain their interest and participation.
  • Individualised Approach: Skill in using individualised plans to guide your support, ensuring personalised and effective assistance.
  • Holistic Care: Commitment to supporting the whole child, including their physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Trauma Awareness: Knowledge of trauma and its impact on children, with the ability to respond appropriately and sensitively.
