SEN - Learning Mentor - Reed : Job Details

Learning Mentor – Immediate StartLocation: Plymouth 

We’re recruiting Learning Mentors to support young people who thrive outside of traditional classrooms. This is a hands-on, active role where you’ll work 1:1 with students who need a different approach to learning.

About the Role

As a Learning Mentor, you’ll support students who haven’t found success in mainstream education. You’ll help them re-engage with learning through tailored activities that suit their interests and needs. This includes:

• Working 1:1 or in small groups to build trust and encourage participation.
• Supporting learning through outdoor activities, such as forest school, sports, and practical science.
• Helping students develop life skills, confidence, and emotional resilience.
• Collaborating with teaching staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Each day is different—some days you might be out in nature, others you’ll be helping with classroom-based tasks or supporting students with personal goals.

What You’ll Need:

• GCSE Maths & English (Grade C/4 or above)
• Available to start ASAP
• Must drive
• DBS on Update Service or willing to apply
• Availability for interview/registration this week
