SEN Humanities Teacher - SEMH - Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited : Job Details

We are working with an SEN school based in South Birmingham who are looking for a teacher of Humanities to carry out maternity cover during the next academic year.Please find below the details:

• Working in a small SEN school that caters to pupils at KS4 level based in south Birmingham, approximately a 20-minute drive from the city centre
• The school caters for pupils who can't stay in mainstream due to social, emotional and mental health challenges
• The role would ideally start in September with a handover with the existing teacher before they go on maternity leave and will run in the first instance to Easter 2026 but probably till the end of the next academic year
• The role will be on a temporary term time only timesheet basis with pay at MPS plus SEN point
• The person concerned would be planning, teaching and assessing the Humanities curriculum at GCSE level
• They must have experience of working with pupils with SEMH and ideally have experience of Team Teach or an understanding of how this works or similar de-escalation techniques
• School will provide Team Teach Training as part of the ongoing support
