The Role

This is a hands-on position where you’ll have responsibility for your own portfolio of clients and the opportunity to build strong relationships. Typical work includes:

• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Preparing VAT returns, management accounts, and occasional bookkeeping support.
• Assisting with personal and business tax compliance.
• Explaining accounting matters clearly to small business owners.
• Working closely with partners and colleagues in a supportive, collaborative team.

This role is ideal if you want a stable, long-term position at Semi-Senior level, where your experience and reliability are genuinely valued. In time, there is scope to progress into a Senior role as the firm evolves, though many of our team enjoy staying long-term at Semi-Senior level.

To be considered, you will need:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a UK-based accountancy practice (we cannot support overseas applicants).
• Confidence preparing accounts and tax returns with minimal supervision.
• A genuine client-friendly approach, with the ability to explain things clearly.
• An interest in being part of a supportive, down-to-earth team.
