Semi-Senior Accountant - Connections The Recruitment Specialists : Job Details

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-focused accountant with at least 3 years’ experience in practice. You’ll get hands-on responsibility for a range of accounts, tax and VAT work, with support and mentoring from experienced team members. This is a great opportunity to broaden your skills and progress within a growing practice.Key Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Producing management accounts, working papers and reconciliations
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with MTD requirements
• Assisting with personal tax returns and corporation tax computations
• Supporting tax planning activities when required
• Maintaining organised records and documentation
• Assisting with general practice administrative tasks as needed

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice
• Strong numerical and IT skills (Excel, Word, email)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage a varied workload
• Proactive, reliable and eager to develop further professionally

Desirable

• Knowledge of accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
• Studying or planning to study ACCA or ACA
