We have a fantastic opportunity for a Semi Senior Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our clients well-established and rapidly expanding accountancy practice. This role is perfect for someone seeking a dynamic, supportive environment with a clear path for professional and personal growth.

We're looking for talented individuals with a solid foundation in accountancy, holding ACCA exemptions (from AAT or a relevant degree), excellent communicators who possessing at least 6-12 months of relevant experience. This experience should ideally be in bookkeeping or accounts preparation for limited company clients, whether gained in a practice or a commercial setting.

What You'll Be Doing: Key Responsibilities

As a vital part of our team, you'll gain all-round accountancy knowledge and play a key role in supporting our diverse client base. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing statutory year-end accounts for limited companies.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate submission of VAT returns in line with HMRC regulations.
  • Performing double-entry bookkeeping and diligently maintaining client ledgers.
  • Processing payroll and managing all related submissions.
  • Assisting with corporation tax computations.
  • Supporting the delivery of management accounts.
  • Acting as a primary client contact, effectively managing queries, and ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Liaising with HMRC and other external bodies as required.

Who We're Looking For: Requirements

  • ACCA part-qualified, AAT qualified, or holding ACCA exemptions from a relevant degree or AAT qualification.
  • 6-12 months of relevant experience in bookkeeping or accounts preparation, ideally within an accountancy practice.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client and team interactions.
  • A strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, and year-end processes.
  • Proven experience in preparing corporation tax calculations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar.
