SEMH Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Haringey

Long Term Futures are working with a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Haringey to appoint a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant for the new academic year.

The school has a well-resourced inclusion department and offers a range of therapeutic interventions to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting vulnerable learners and who is confident working with students presenting behavioural or emotional challenges.

You'll be joining a pastoral and SEND team that values consistency, positive relationships, and early intervention strategies.

Key Responsibilities:* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs across KS3 and KS4* Assist students in accessing learning in a calm and supportive way* Support the implementation of behaviour and wellbeing plans* Work closely with the SENCo, pastoral staff and class teachers to track progress* Promote emotional regulation, resilience and positive routines

Ideal Candidate Will Have:* Experience supporting secondary-aged students with SEMH, trauma or behavioural needs* A calm, empathetic and consistent approach* Confidence in de-escalation and restorative practices* Excellent teamwork and communication skills* A background in PRU, youth work or mental health support is highly desirable

Location and Transport - Haringey, North London* Easily accessible via Seven Sisters, Tottenham Hale and Turnpike Lane stations* Local bus routes include: 41, 67, 123, 230, W4* On-site parking available for staff
