SEMH Teaching Assistant - £115 - £120 per day - Term-Time Only

A well-regarded SEMH School in South East London is seeking a compassionate and committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a term-time only, full-time role paid on a daily rate.

What will this SEMH Teaching Assistant position involve?

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs

• Assisting with EHCP targets and adapting activities to suit individual needs

• Supporting class teachers in managing behaviour and promoting engagement

• Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

• Liaising with SEMHCOs, parents, and external professionals when needed

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Supporting children with SEMH across EYFS, KS1 and lower KS2

• Working closely with class teachers and SEMH team

• £115 - £120 per day - Term-Time Only - Daily rate based on experience

• September 2025 Start - Full-Time Role

• Based in South East London

• Experience working with children with special educational needs in a school or similar setting

• Patient, empathetic, and calm under pressure

• Proactive, enthusiastic, and able to build strong relationships with young children

• Able to follow support plans and use your initiative

• A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
