Job Description :

SEMH Teaching Assistant

  • Specialist school
  • Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs
  • KS3 students
  • Full-time/Long-term
  • September start

We're working on behalf of a fantastic specialist setting that provides education, outreach and intervention services to young people in Gloucestershire. The school look after a range of needs but are primarily focused around students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH).

We have recently placed a couple of teachers at the school who are thoroughly enjoying their time there, making real impact on these young people's lives. They have a few different sites across Gloucester so you will be expected to move around between the sites (driving is a preference).

The role

The role of SEMH Teaching Assistant is varied, providing general 1-1 support across KS3 classes and the teachers. You don't need to be a subject specialist but ideally you would hold a GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths & English and be able to support across a range of subjects.

Due to the needs of the students it is desirable to have worked with SEMH students before, ideally in a school setting. This is a long-term position so ideally you would be looking for a long-term position.
