SEMH Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School in Redbridge

About the role:

We are supporting a Secondary School that is looking to appoint a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor to join their inclusive and supportive community. This role focuses on supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to develop positive behaviours and achieve their full potential. You will deliver personalised interventions and support students in lessons to overcome barriers and thrive academically and socially.

Your Role:

  • Provide targeted SEMH support and interventions both one-to-one and in small groups
  • Work alongside teachers and support staff to engage students and reduce classroom disruption
  • Offer feedback and collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals
  • Assist students with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and other SEND needs

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs in a school or SEND setting
  • Empathetic, patient, and able to build strong, positive relationships with students
  • Proactive, adaptable, and ready to respond flexibly in a dynamic school environment
  • Passionate about supporting young people to develop their confidence and resilience
