Are you an experienced SEMH Teacher seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity in North London? Or are you a qualified teacher passionate about transforming the educational journey of young people with social, emotional and mental health needs?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking exceptional SEMH Teachers to work across Pupil Referral Units and alternative provisions throughout North London. These specialist settings support vulnerable students with complex behavioural and emotional needs who require expert educational leadership to unlock their academic potential. We have full-time, long-term positions available starting now with excellent prospects for permanent placements.

As an SEMH Teacher you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering differentiated curriculum content adapted to meet the complex needs of students with SEMH challenges
  • Teaching small classes and providing intensive one-to-one support to maximize individual student progress and engagement
  • Implementing therapeutic teaching approaches and trauma-informed pedagogical strategies within academic lessons
  • Developing and executing personalized education plans that address both academic goals and behavioral interventions
  • Creating positive, structured classroom environments that promote emotional regulation and successful learning outcomes
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, families, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive student support
  • Conducting detailed assessments, tracking academic progress, and adapting teaching methods based on individual student needs
  • Leading behavior management strategies while maintaining focus on curriculum delivery and educational achievement

To excel in this role you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience teaching students with SEMH needs in specialist or mainstream settings
  • Strong understanding of behavior management techniques, therapeutic approaches, and trauma-informed teaching practices
  • Exceptional classroom management skills and ability to remain calm, inspirational, and effective during challenging situations
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (where applicable) and outstanding professional references
  • Comprehensive employment history covering the previous 10 years where possible
  • Right to work in the UK

Daily rate: £200 - £250
