If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Randstad Education is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled SEN/SEMH Teacher for a rewarding role in the Leeds area. We're looking for someone to work with a dedicated team, providing vital support to young children with addtional needs.

Key Responsibilities

As an SEN/SEMH Teacher, your role is crucial to the success and well-being of the pupils. You will be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering tailored lessons that cater to pupils with a wide spectrum of Special Educational Needs and SEMH challenges.

  • Confidently implementing positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques to ensure a productive and safe learning space.

  • Providing consistent emotional support to pupils, helping them develop self-regulation skills and a strong sense of self-worth.

  • Collaborating with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach to pupil development.

  • Regularly assessing and reporting on pupil progress against their individualised targets and learning goals.

Requirements

To succeed in this position, you must possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Demonstrable experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).

  • The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.

  • A naturally patient and resilient approach to working with vulnerable pupils.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building rapport quickly.

  • Specific training in areas such as Team Teach, Makaton, or PECS is highly desirable.
