Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for a committed and empathetic Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking Specialist School, providing essential support to pupils who face emotional and behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Help implement personalised learning and behaviour plans.
• Support pupils in regulating emotions and developing coping strategies.
• Promote positive relationships and a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external professionals.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Calm, resilient and able to respond effectively to challenging situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a nurturing approach.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and de-escalation techniques.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Team Teach) are desirable but not essential.
