Job Description :

Our client who is a well-established Self Storage business is about to open a brand new store in Dorking. This has led to an exciting opportunity for a current Store Manager or Assistant Manager to come in from day one and open this new branch.

The successful candidate will be target driven with good sales and customer service skills as well as showing the ability to lead a small team confidently as well as being quick to make decisions.

The ideal candidate will have some previous experience in self-storage. The candidate should be confident and willing to learn to then be able to pass on information well as they will be involved in all aspects of the business. This is a customer-facing role. The candidate should be confident at working towards sales targets, leading a small team and want to exceed expectations within. Good computer skills are necessary.

Job Responsibilities

  • Confident in growing the store from opening as well as helping with ideas on the build-up and showing good growth over time.
  • A proven ability to perform in a fast-paced demanding environment with minimal supervision.
  • Managing customers’ requirements and advising on the best solutions from move-in to move-out, driving all targets up.
  • Self-driven, passionate and committed to exceeding expectations while leading your store team to help achieve all targets.
  • Some experience in self-storage or at least a management role needed.
  • Ability to deliver on all sales and revenue targets.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads for yourself and the team.
  • Is target driven and always strives to succeed in Sales and Customer Service.
  • Actively promote the sale of add-on products such as merchandise and insurance
  • To ensure that all customers (both in person, on the phone and through e-mail) are given all the help and advice possible.
  • To ensure that all customers visiting the Store are aware of the security procedures.
  • Accountable for the presentation of packaging materials etc. to help generate increased sales and enhance the reception/retail area.
  • To ensure that the company equipment is fit for its purpose and to report any equipment which needs attention or repair.
  • To report any maintenance required at the store via appropriate channels in a timely manner, this may include undertaking minor repairs where necessary.
  • To be prepared to cover staff at a different store if required

Must-Have Experience

  • Driving License
  • Self Storage Experience
  • Be prepared to work every other Saturday 9am-12.30 until the store is nearly at full capacity (we expect this to happen within a year)

What does our client offer?

  • Salary - £27,000 to £35,000 per annum
  • 21 days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays.
