About the Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer with current security clearance to join our team. In this role, you’ll provide technical support across a secure environment, ensuring systems, applications, and networks run efficiently and securely.
You’ll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving issues, supporting end users, maintaining hardware/software, and working within strict security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1st and 2nd line support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain secure IT systems.
- Troubleshoot incidents, escalating where necessary to senior engineers or specialist teams.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, fixes, and system changes.
- Support system upgrades, patching, and deployments.
Requirements
- Active Security Clearance (must be valid at application stage).
- Proven experience in an IT support role (1st/2nd line).
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Familiarity with networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Experience with Active Directory, user administration, and group policies.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a secure, process-driven environment.
Desirable Skills
- IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL).
- Experience working within defence, government, or highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of endpoint security tools and monitoring solutions.
