Overview:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics to join a forward-thinking and supportive educational setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, while contributing to the development of the curriculum and supporting student progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Mathematics across KS3 and KS4.
  • Support the development of the curriculum in collaboration with the subject leader.
  • Uphold the school’s behaviour management systems to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and support the academic progress and personal development of students.
  • Promote the philosophy of Self-Directed Learning through lesson planning and delivery.
  • Mentor students in either the Lower or Upper school.
  • Provide opportunities for learning beyond the classroom, including enrichment activities.
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by the leadership team.

  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the wider vision of the school.

Safeguarding Commitment:The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check with appropriate barred list checks, or the equivalent. They must demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Recent experience teaching Mathematics at KS3 and KS4.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and forming appropriate relationships with students.
  • Flexible, reliable, and adaptable approach to work.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting SEN pupils.
  • Participation in recent professional development.
  • Willingness to undertake further training and CPD.
