About the Role:We are seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to join our thriving secondary school team in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love of literature and language.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons to students from Year 7 to Year 11, preparing them for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong understanding of the national curriculum and a genuine desire to make a difference in young people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to a range of abilities.
- Teach English Language and Literature in line with the national curriculum.
- Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE exams.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and respect.
- Contribute to the development of departmental schemes of work and resources.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and parent-teacher meetings.
- Support students with literacy interventions where needed.

Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in English or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3 & KS4).
- A passion for literature, language, and student development.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the English curriculum and exam specifications.
