School Roles

Role Purpose:Providing comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school’s operations, enabling staff and leadership to focus on educational priorities and student outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Front office management including greeting visitors, answering calls, and handling enquiries
  • Maintaining accurate student records and managing attendance data
  • Supporting admissions, transfers, and withdrawals
  • Preparing letters, reports, and documentation for internal and external use
  • Organising meetings, booking venues, and arranging refreshments
  • Assisting with staff recruitment, onboarding, and maintaining personnel files
  • Processing purchase orders, invoices, and petty cash claims
  • Supporting budget tracking and financial reporting
  • Managing school communications including newsletters and website updates
  • Liaising with parents, staff, and external agencies
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, and health & safety regulations
  • Supporting school events, trips, and documentation management
  • Handling sensitive information with discretion and maintaining confidentiality
  • Providing administrative support to other departments as required
Person Specifications:

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a school or similar administrative environment (2-3 years)

  • Well-organised and able to manage/prioritise tasks, addressing last-minute changes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, discreet, and resourceful
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and requirements with a positive and professional attitude
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate to advanced level of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Forms, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and ability to quickly learn new systems
  • Team player with the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrates aptitude and a can-do attitude
  • Proactive in driving tasks forward and able to chase leadership team
Package:
  • Salary: £13.50 – £18.00 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, term-time only or full-time depending on assignment
  • Contract Type: Temporary, ongoing recruitment
  • Annual Leave: Accrued based on hours worked
