Schools Finance Support Manager - TempLondon Local Authority£674 Per Day UmbrellaWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Schools Finance Support Manager to take the lead in supporting schools’ financial management. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring robust financial frameworks are in place to help schools deliver outstanding educational outcomes within resource constraints.In this role, you will:

• Provide specialist financial advice and guidance to school leaders and governors.
• Lead on school financial planning, budget monitoring, and closure of accounts across both revenue and capital.
• Oversee and develop the schools’ bursarial support service, ensuring schools receive high-quality, value-adding support.
• Work closely with auditors, and contribute to statutory reporting, grant claims, and financial returns.
• Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and compliance, while supporting schools to develop effective recovery plans where deficits occur.
• Manage and develop a small team, promoting a proactive, customer-focused finance function.

About You

• We are looking for a CCAB (or equivalent) qualified accountant with:
• A strong track record in public sector finance, ideally with experience in school’s finance.
• Proven expertise in budget setting, monitoring, financial planning, reporting, and closure of accounts.
• The ability to manage large, complex budgets and financial systems.
• Experience of leading and developing a high-performing team.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial issues clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.
• Up-to-date knowledge of financial frameworks, accounting standards, and the challenges facing the education sector.
