The school is seeking a reliable and hardworking School Caretaker to help maintain our secondary school premises. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical skills and a commitment to ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

• Ensure the security of the school premises, including locking/unlocking buildings and responding to alarms.

• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs to maintain school facilities.

• Oversee the cleanliness of the school, ensuring classrooms, corridors, and outdoor areas are well-maintained.

• Support cleaning staff and manage waste disposal.

• Assist in setting up for school events, assemblies, and examinations.

• Monitor stock levels of maintenance supplies and reorder as necessary.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and report any hazards or necessary repairs.

• Liaise with contractors and external agencies regarding maintenance work.

• Maintain sports facilities, science labs, and other specialist secondary school areas.

• Previous experience in a caretaker, maintenance, or facilities role, ideally in a secondary school setting.

• Knowledge of basic maintenance tasks, health and safety procedures, and security protocols.

• Practical skills in repairs, DIY, and general site upkeep.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

• A proactive and friendly approach to supporting the school community.
