Engage Education Services are currently recruiting for a Caretaker to join a fantastic special educational needs school in Lancing. Salary: £23,000 – £28,000 per annum (actual salary range)

About the role:

The Caretaker will be responsible for maintaining the school’s facilities and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students and staff. As a keyholder, you will manage site security and work closely with contractors and the school’s facilities team. Your duties will include:

• Overseeing cleaning and caretaking activities across the site
• Performing maintenance and repair tasks
• Ensuring heating, lighting, and alarm systems are checked regularly
• Managing site security when the building is not in use
• Supporting with the set-up of school events and activities

About you:

• Experience working in a school or similar setting
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures
• A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and external contractors
