We are currently with a well established Bank who are seeking a Scala Developer to join a fast-paced and challenging team working closely with the front office. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid level developer to work in a demanding environment with a wealth of learning and development opportunities.

Candidates should have between 4-8 years experience as a back-end or full stack developer and MUST have professional experience using Scala and Java to a high standard.

We need an experienced software engineer, to come into a team working on exciting and significant technology infrastructure upgrade in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Essential Skills:

Core experience as a Scala Back-End Developer is essential

Experience using Java to a high standard

Experience developing real-time applications

SQL/ Relational database skills

Desired Skills:

A 2:1 in a technical subject from a Russell Group University (or equivalent)

Experience of working in a fast paced financial services environment as an experienced software engineer would be advantageous. But experience within a complex corporate environment would otherwise be useful.

Experience/Exposure working with Angular or React is beneficial but not essential.

Distributed platforms and technology experience would highly beneficial.

Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills

Highly innovative, motivated and effective team player

Willingness to learn new technologies
