Job Description :

As a Team Leader in our Sampling Department, you will have a crucial leadership role supporting a team of Sampling Assistants and Chefs who purchase, prepare and present product samples for our Buying team’s evaluation and decision-making. Your leadership will ensure that samples are prepared to exacting standards and delivered on time, maintaining food safety and quality at all times — all within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Your New Role

  • Lead and motivate the Sampling team to achieve exacting standards in sample preparation and presentation
  • Ensure all product samples are prepared accurately and ready on time for assessment
  • Maintain an organised, efficient, and safe working environment, adapting quickly to shifting priorities
  • Uphold all food safety and handling procedures, ensuring compliance at all times
  • Foster effective communication within the team and across departments
  • Support continuous improvement and a proactive approach in the department

About You

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Catering/Hospitality/Retail experience
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Teams
  • Background in catering or similar food preparation experience
  • Previous experience of leading/managing people
  • Ability to build strong successful working relationships cross functionally and motivate your team of direct reports,
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • A confident open-minded approach that welcomes feedback
  • Excellent organisation, time, and diary management with the ability to meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of work
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to influence stakeholders

Desirable

  • Food Safety Level 2
  • Project management experience
  • Financial planning and budget management
  • Experience presenting to key Stakeholders
