JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a driven and experienced sales professional to join our publications commercial team. You will be responsible for generating revenue across our publication’s portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of meeting commercial targets, building relationships with potential clients, and maximising order values. You should be an excellent communicator and negotiator, able to create value-based packages that meet client needs.
Your main focus will be selling magazine advertising and sponsorship packages, primarily through telesales, while also attending industry events and re-engaging lapsed customers. You will collaborate closely with our marketing and editorial teams to ensure the publications offer the right content mix to attract both audiences and sponsors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Meet annual advertising and sponsorship revenue targets (digital, print, events).
- Build and manage relationships with new and existing clients.
- Prospect new business and identify opportunities in target markets.
- Create tailored marketing solutions and integrated packages (digital ads, event sponsorships).
- Deliver high-quality proposals and presentations.
- Attend industry events and stay informed of trends.
- Hitting activity targets which includes CRM and telephone targets
- Negotiating and maximising the potential of all sales transactions
- Generating digital, print and sponsorship revenues for new and existing brands.
- Generating sponsorships for the event portfolio, including conferences and awards, both within the UK and internationally.
- Supporting junior members of the publications commercial team.
KEY SKILLS
- 5-7 years of B2B publishing sales experience.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial acumen in digital advertising and event sponsorships.
- Ability to handle multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
- Interest in the supply chain and logistics sectors.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
