The responsibilities of the Sales Manager include but are not limited to:
- Team Leadership & Coaching: Lead daily huddles, run role-play sessions, and provide ongoing coaching to ensure the team is prepared and motivated.
- Performance Management: Hold the team accountable for activity targets including dials, conversations, and meetings booked and attended.
- Sales Strategy Execution: Implement and monitor SMART goals (VIGs) to ensure delivery of company GP growth targets.
- Pipeline & Qualification Oversight: Ensure opportunities are properly qualified and the team focuses on high-value prospects.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the hiring and onboarding of new sales team members, fostering a culture of excellence from day one.
Skills, Experience & Key Candidate Attributes of the Sales Manager:
- Formal sales training and at least 2 years of new business development experience.
- Proven experience in team building, including hiring and performance management.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, CRM systems, and pipeline management.
- Experience selling technical products such as inks, coatings, or packaging.
- Ability to lead by example with personal activity targets.
