We are looking for an experienced Sage 200 Application Consultant who is process-driven and passionate about continuous improvement. You’ll play a critical role in delivering high-quality consultancy services that enhance the customer experience - ensuring it is always evolving and improving.
As part of the wider Professional Services division, this role is responsible for delivering application consultancy across a range of sectors including finance, manufacturing, construction, and distribution. You’ll also support in-life projects for existing customers, working on third-party solutions, systems integration, and software development.
Reporting to the Head of Sage 200 in our professional services division, this is a full time role operating on a remote basis (within the UK), but some travel may occasionally be required.
Key Responsibilities
Planning
- Understanding the order with the Sales Person and Project Lead
- Clear definition of the ‘key deliverables’ from a customer perspective
- Project scoping with the customer, walking the customer through the solution as understood
- Highlight any obvious commercial variances from kick-off expectations
- Understand customer resource limitations and constraints
Consultancy
- Work with Head of Sage 200 to ensure diaries are planned
- Initial company parameters and setup
- Chart of accounts consultancy and initial setup
- Map financial processes to modules sold
- Map operational processes to modules sold
- Configure essential system to ensure that ‘key deliverables’ can be met
- Documented gap analysis
- Prepare options for gaps including custom reporting, advanced configuration or software development
- Collect commercial options for managing gaps
- Be prepared to walk customer through how ‘key deliverables’ will be met, including options to address any gaps
- Update the project manager on progress, gaps and commercial options
Configuration
- Provide updates to project plan, including customer tasks following consultancy phase
- Configure the financial modules
- Configure the operational modules (commercials, distribution, manufacturing etc.)
- Set up security, roles and access
- Build data load mapping
- Build agreed stationery
- Build agreed reporting
- Build agreed integration
- Carry out sample data load for training and testing
Train & Test
- Ensure training is scheduled
- Provide support on creating test plans
- Deliver standard training
- Deliver any custom training associated with solutions for gaps
- Capture exceptions from customer testing and share with Project Manager
- Agree time required with Project Manager to allocate to managing testing exception
Go-Live / Post Go-Live
- Provide go-live cover if agreed
- Understand non-critical exceptions to be addressed post go-live
- Support the post go-live review process
- Support the formal support handover
The Ideal Candidate
- Sage 200 Financial and Commercial modules experience
- Sicon Manufacturing (or) CIM200 experience is essential
- Sicon Barcoding & Warehousing experience
- A proven track record of multiple Sage 200 implementations (full life-cycle)
- Good knowledge of SQL servers
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly professional
- Good Interpersonal Skills
- A willingness to travel
