Risk Director - London - Jameson Legal : Job Details

This is an opportunity for an experienced solicitor to take a lead role in driving improvements within the Risk & Compliance function at an industry-leading firm, as the Director of Risk. This role can be based across several locations in the UK. Reporting to the COLP, the Director of Risk will be a member of the senior management team as a trusted advisor at the risk committee meetings. The firm provides advice to a diverse range of clients, which means that the risks faced each day are diverse as well. As part of the senior management team, the successful candidate will be able to incorporate their commercial mindset to manage Risk & Compliance requirements, allowing the firm to make strategic decisions that will help grow the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting and advising the COLP on all regulatory requirements.
• Managing the overall risk team including training, performance review etc.
• Provide advice to the COLP, senior management, and Audit and Risk Committee to develop and implement risk and compliance strategy.
• Ensuring the firm's accreditations such as Lexcel are renewed.
• Be a member of the change management group to ensure that our legal and regulatory requirements are considered as part of change programmes.
• Manage claims and complaints presented to the firm and take responsibility for handling complaints where they are escalated to the Legal Ombudsman.
• Support as required the process for renewal of professional indemnity, management liability, cyber and office insurances and the bulk renewal of the firm's practising certificates.
• Being a point of contact for the analysts to escalate complex conflicts of interest and support the learning and development of the conflicts team.
• Assisting with Information Security as necessary to achieve ISO 27001 and sit on the internal Information Security Management Forum.
• Assisting the Data Protection Officer as necessary with SRA and GDPR compliance.
